Quality Lifeline of mould baseーー inspection and quality control system throughout the whole process


In the field of precision-oriented mold base, quality is not the last check point, but permeated in every part of the production process of gene. A set of qualified mold base, must be accurate size, stable performance, reliable life of the unity. It relies on a scientific, rigorous and consistent quality control system that acts as a lifeline to ensure the superior quality of the final product.
Source Control: incoming inspection of raw materials
The first bastion of quality control is established before raw materials are put into storage. We resolutely put an end to the extensive mode of“Use the materials as they come”.
Material Certificate Audit: for all incoming die steel, first verify its Mill Certificate to ensure that its chemical composition (such as C, CR, Mo, V, etc.) meets the standard requirements.
Hardness screening: using portable leeb or ultrasonic hardness tester, in different parts of the steel sample testing, to ensure that the hardness of pre-hardened steel value is uniform and within the specified range.
Ultrasonic flaw detection: for large modules or key projects of steel, using ultrasonic flaw detector for internal defect detection. Like to steel to do“B ultrasonic”, can effectively find the internal pores, inclusions, shrinkage and other fatal defects, from the source to eliminate potential safety hazards.
Process Control: the guard of precision in machining

First Piece Inspection: the first piece to be machined after any new procedure or tool change must be fully dimensionally measured before batch machining can proceed.
In-process inspection:
After rough machining: check whether the machining allowance is reasonable, whether there is obvious deformation.
 
Before finishing: Recheck the benchmark to ensure that follow-up processing is established on the correct basis.
Key feature machining: the core parts such as guide pillar hole, thimble hole and cavity frame are inspected by CMM immediately after machining. CMM can quickly obtain the coordinate position, diameter, depth and other data of the hole with micron-level accuracy, and compare with the three-dimensional digital model to realize digital evaluation.
Surface quality inspection: use Surface roughness to measure the RA value of the runner and important mating surfaces to ensure that they meet the design requirements and that the plastic flows smoothly or the moving parts fit smoothly.
Final control: the comprehensive“Big Test” before leaving the factory
After all processing procedures are completed, the mould base must undergo a comprehensive final inspection to obtain a“Factory license.”.
Full-size final inspection: using coordinate measuring machine to scan all key dimensions, position, parallelism and perpendicularity of the mould base, and generate a detailed inspection report, as a certificate of quality for delivery with goods.
 
Assembly verification and trial assembly (optional) : for custom mold bases with complex structures, trial assembly is recommended. The guide post, guide sleeve, thimble and other standard parts are pre-assembled to check whether the movement is smooth and the clearance is reasonable. If conditional, can be on the machine for rapid test, verify the flow channel, cooling water and the basic function of the unobstructed.
 
Clean, rust-proof and packing: after thoroughly cleaning and rust-proof treatment, the qualified mould bases shall be protected by professional packing materials to avoid bumping and rusting during transportation, delivered in good condition to the customer.
Construction of quality traceability system
We create unique“ID” information for each die set. Through the ERP/MES system, record all the information from the steel furnace number, all the process operators, equipment parameters, test data to the final inspection report. This complete traceability system makes any quality problems can be traced back to the source, back to the scope of impact, for the realization of continuous quality improvement provides a solid data base.
