4Cr5MoSiVl is an internationally accepted hot-work die steel with excellent toughness, good thermal strength, thermal fatigue resistance, and moderate wear resistance. It is an air-cooled, hardened steel with the advantage of minimal deformation during heat treatment. It is commonly used in the manufacture of die-casting dies for aluminum castings, hot extrusion dies, piercing tools, mandrels, press forging dies, and plastic molds. It is also widely used in die-casting dies for aluminum, copper, and their alloys.
