I. Core features
The core value of S136 is that it provides a state-of-the-art solution to corrosion and surface finish problems.Excellent corrosion resistance
This is the core benefit of the S136. On the basis of the excellent rust resistance brought by high chromium content, its high purity further enhances the corrosion resistance. Can completely resist PVC, cellulose acetate, flame retardant (halogen/phosphorus) and other plastic in the process of release of corrosive gases and acid erosion, no chromium plating can be used for a long time. This avoids the product defects caused by coating peeling, and greatly prolongs the mold maintenance cycle.
Excellent mirror polishing performance
Because of its pure texture and extremely fine texture, S136 can be easily polished to the highest level of mirror effect (e. g. A1 # 10000 + mirror) . This is essential for the production of transparent optical components (such as lenses) and bloom appearances, ensuring flawless Surface finish and transparency.
Excellent wear resistance
After proper heat treatment, S136 can obtain high hardness, thus has good wear resistance, can resist the wear of ordinary plastics and a small amount of abrasive filler, and ensure the dimensional stability of the mold for long-term production.
Excellent dimensional stability
After the optimization of heat treatment process, the internal stress of steel is very small, and the size change is very small in the process of processing and using, which is very suitable for manufacturing high-precision dies.
Good Hardenability
Uniform hardness and mechanical properties can be obtained even on larger cross-sections.
Main chemical constituents (typical values)
Its performance comes from the classic stainless steel composition and high purity.Element carbon (c) chromium (CR) vanadium (V) manganese (MN) silicon
0.38% ~ 13.6% ~ 0.30% ~ 0.50% ~ 0.80%
High Chromium (CR) : provide excellent corrosion resistance of the fundamental guarantee.Carbon (C) and vanadium (V) : work together to form carbides that provide the required hardness, strength, and wear resistance.
Typical areas of application
S136 is specially designed for the harsh environment of plastic molding, especially suitable for:Molds for highly corrosive plastics, such as PVC pipe fittings, valves, and electronic component containing flame retardants (ABS, PC) .
Ultra-high mirror requirements mold: such as optical lenses, camera lenses, Laser Records (CD/DVD) , Light Guide Plate, medical analysis tubes and other molds.
Food packaging, medical equipment mold: because of its corrosion resistance, non-toxic, easy to clean characteristics, in line with health and safety standards.
Mold in wet environment: the use of cooling water easy to cause ordinary steel rust occasions, S136 is the perfect choice.
Long life, low maintenance mold: want to reduce the number of downtime polishing, disassembly and maintenance of the production occasion.
Status of supply and heat treatment
Supply status: flat steel blanks, usually supplied in the annealed state, with a hardness of approximately ≤235hb, convenient for machining.Heat treatment process (to be carried out by the mould manufacturer) :
Quenching (hardening) :
Preheat: 600-750 °C
Austenitizing: 1020-1050 °C. Must be in the vacuum furnace or protective atmosphere furnace, prevent decarburization and oxidation.
Cooling: high pressure gas quenching is recommended for minimum deformation and optimum dimensional control.
Tempering:
Adjust according to the required hardness and toughness. The tempering temperature usually ranges from 250 °C to 550 °C.
Must be tempered at least twice.
Typical hardness: 48-52 HRC. In this hardness, it can achieve the best balance of corrosion resistance, toughness and wear resistance. Higher wear resistance requirements can be up to 52-54HRC.
